Dog River Candle Company was established in 2021 by me, George Silowash. I founded the company to teach my kids business skills, math, and chemistry. Yes, chemistry....I wish I would have paid a bit more attention in high school chemistry class. :-)
Years ago I experimented with a candle making kit from a big-box retailer and enjoyed it. I had very little knowledge about making candles, but enjoyed using the kit. This was all before YouTube.
Fast forward to 2020 when I spent countless hours learning the trade and perfecting my craft before opening our online store - www.DogRiverCandle.com Candle making can be a relaxing and enjoyable hobby.
Since the opening of the online store, we continue to grow our product lines. From candles to wax melts to room sprays, you will find some of our offerings here in the Northfield Farmer's Market store and our full product offering is available on our website or Facebook store.
